Us humans are very good at labelling ourselves and others.
We quickly turn occasional behaviours or possible descriptive words into labels of identity.
Allowing that, without realising, to then shape our future behaviours.
Our actions falling in line with this self-imposed identity.
And realising that many of these descriptions are, at most, things we have or have done, is freeing.
Here’s a few self descriptions we may use from time to time, followed by what I would consider better ways to look at what’s happened.;
“I am a f*ck up”
“I’m fat”
“I’m a failure”
“I’m unsuccessful”
“I’m a screw up”
“I’m lazy”
–>
“I have f*cked up”
“I have fat” – (whilst I’m most well known for helping with this, I’ll help you with all of these if you give me, and yourself, a chance —> www.myrise.co.uk/apply)
“I have failed”
“I have been unsuccessful”
“I’ve screwed up”
“I have been lazy”
Next time you find yourself thinking the former or something similar………..
Try turning gets to the latter by changing “I am” to “I have”.
Much love,
