It’s not uncommon that when I ask people what they think they need in order to achieve the results they desire…….
That they reply with “More willpower”.
Seems to make sense on the face of it, doesn’t it?
But if the success rate of those who approach this with a view to needing willpower has taught me anything……..
It’s that……..
That’s not going to work.
Willpower is only needed………..
For things that we don’t want to do.
At least in the way we perceive them at that point.
We don’t need willpower to watch our favourite programs, spend time with our favourite people or to do stuff that we enjoy doing, do we ?
If anything, the approach that will get us the results we desire……….
Is one that requires less willpower.
Whether that be from changing the things that we intend to do to ones that we are happier to do.
Or from questioning the way we perceive what needs to be done to view it in a way that we’re happier to do.
But, ultimately, if we’re approaching it in a way the requires willpower…,…
Experience has taught us……….
That’s probably not going to happen.
An approach that requires less willpower is more likely to happen (and that’s what we’ll set you up with at RISE –> www.myrise.co.uk/apply) .
Much love,
