Get on the waiting list?
We’re now only a number of weeks away from being back in the club (date TBC)!
Places will will go before that actually happens.
So, don’t leave this till after “gyms are open”.
It’ll be too late by then.
Before lockdown, our programme sold out in advance for 63 months in a row and we don’t see this being any different 🙂

You’re probably aware that there are a number of systems put in place by the government to, essentially, enable lockdown to happen.
Furloughing people, grants, loans, etc.
At RISE we are eligible for the small business grant.
Which, nice as it is, will barely touch the sides of our drop in revenue,
———— Don’t worry, we’ve got all year to average out and we’ve got some pretty epic plans for when we’re back in the club ———–
Despite it saying on the website that it would be paid withing 5 to 10 working days, it took 10 weeks.
I wasn’t absolutely desperate as the tax account is pretty full and the payments have been deferred, so I’ve only chased it up periodically.
Even so, I’ve sent several emails, filled in several contact forms and left several voicemails.
I finally got to speak to a human the other week.
Who, coincidentally, was briefly a member several years ago.
When I explained who I was he replied with “I know you. You nearly killed me”.
When he said who he was I knew exactly what he meant.
Before people first start with us, they’re often concerned that “It’ll be too hard”.
Or “I won’t be fit enough”.
Or maybe “I’ll be the fattest one there”.
And we get that.
So we try really hard to make it really clear that it’s Goldilocks exercise.
Not too easy.
Not too hard.
Everyone works at their own level.
Adjusts the weight, duration, speed, rest period, position or some other variable to make it right for them.
Someone who’s get 10 stone to lose and hasn’t exercised in decades can do the same session as someone who’s been coming since the day we opened, and both work at an intensity appropriate to them.
As we get to know you, we’ll be able to gently motivate and encourage to get the most (or, at least, a bit more) out of a session, sure.
But there’s no ‘military style’ beastings.
No making anyone work at a level they’re not happy with.
And everyone is friendly, welcoming and non-judgemental.
We even say for the first couple of weeks to go at a 3 or 4 out of 10 and build up over time.
Yet some don’t listen.
Guys particularly.
They go from not exercising in months or years to 100mph on their first session.
And are incredibly sore after.
I remember talking to this particular member about taking it a bit more steady.
Which he then didn’t do.
I didn’t “nearly kill” him.
He nearly killed himself.
If you want to work harder, that’s cool.
If you don’t, that’s also fine.
But there’s never any need to be concerned that it’ll be “too hard”.
—————- Or even “too easy” —————-
Unless you make it so.
Much love,
Jon ‘Switch’ Hall
