Each week we ask our members to Touch Base and set a RISE Plan for the coming week.
Most do, some don’t.
There’s a massive correlation between that and the results people get and how long they stay.
Those who stick with the “I know what I need to do, I just need to do” approach are way less likely to then actually do it than those that use the systems.
Touching Base takes 20 seconds and just makes us stop and take stock of how things are going.
It’s something we can always, always do, no matter what’s happening.
That, at the very least, stops us doing the equivalent of sitting with our fingers in our ears going “Nah, nah, nah, nah – I can’t hear you”.
Setting a RISE Plan takes a fraction longer.
Maybe a minute.
Having a little think about the coming week and deciding on a plan that is worthwhile, but doable under the circumstances.
And there’s quite an easy way to decide if that goal (or any other) has been set well or not.
Ask the question “Are you on track?”
If we can pretty quickly answer with a “Yes” or “No” than it will have been a better set plan than if we respond with “Erm, well, kinda. I’ll have to see. I just need to do it”.
Plans with specifics mean we’re more likely to schedule and organise the steps to achieving them.
If our plan is to “Do more exercise” than what would our answer be to “are you on track?”
If it was “Do three workouts at RISE – Monday and Friday at 7am and Wednesday at 6pm” then we can give a clear answer.
And, potentially, course correct if not (if you’ve not been taking the next step in changing your life, by entering your details at www.myrise.co.uk/apply then it’s time to course correct that!).
If our plan is to “Eat better” than what would our answer be to “are you on track?”
If it was “Total 10,500 calories for the week” then we can give that “Yes” or “No”.
Same with “Get more sleep” and “Be in bed by 10.30pm on four nights.
And so on.
If we’d struggle to answer the question “Are you on track?” then the plan is probably not the best one we could set.
Much love,
