If we feel that we’re too busy, it’s tempting to say that we wish we “had more time”. And it’s easy to get frustrated that we’re not able to lose or maintain weight eating in a certain way. In both cases we are essentially saying that we want to create more of something. We want there to be more hours in the day. We want there to be more calories that we can consume (without having to use them or store them). We’re essentially wanting to create something from nothing. And that can’t happen. There is a set amount of time in the day and week. And there is a set amount of energy we can consume and / or use without affecting its storage in body fat. All we can really do with these finite resources is choose how we assign them. What we do with them. So it absolutely stands to reason that there will be benefit from getting clear on where they are going already. Tracking our usage of calories and time for at least a few days to get clear on where they’re currently being assigned. Using something like MyFitnessPal for our food. Or the resources at www.myrise.co.uk/time for our time. Without that, you’re saying that you want to make better use of it……. but you’re not willing to record how you use it.
