I saw a study referenced on Facebook the other day.

“………analysed 214 Black Friday deals last year at seven major home and tech retailers……. looking at their prices every day in the six months before and after the sale day……..

It found the majority of promotions (183 – or 86%) were cheaper or the same price in the six months before the sales. Of the deals, 209 (98%) were cheaper or the same price at other times in the year. None were cheaper on Black Friday alone.”

Literally non of the Black Friday offers were actually any lower in price than they had been at other times.

I’ve become much more wary of “offers” over the last few years.

How genuine they are or aren’t.

And questioning the profit margins businesses are making if they are actually usually selling their products or services at a significantly higher price.

And, potentially, how good something actually is but it needs to be discounted to be sold.

The fitness industry is notorious for this.

Rotating through different offers to create false scarcity in order to get people to sign up.

Ending up with different people paying different amounts for the same thing.

I regularly get asked if we’ll have any offers at RISE.

The answer is always “No”.

We keep our budget fairly lean.

There’s no spare within it.

If we were to reduce the price we would lose money on that member.

I could falsely increase it to then create a fake offer, but that’s not the way I roll.

And our programme has sold out every month outside of Lockdowns for nearly a decade now.

I always question how good a gym or programme can be if they have to put offers on on a regular basis.

So if you want to go somewhere that’s desperate for business and overcharges at times to create false offers, and there’s plenty to choose from.

If you like the sound of somewhere that’s sold out consistently for years on end……..

And it doesn’t falsely overcharge at times…….

And gets amazing, life changing results for its members……..

Then that’s what we do.
