Hey guys,

Just a quick one today as we’re  busy putting the finishing touches on the new booking system and app 🙂

Alex and I have been working on the whinging of the kids recently.

They are generally good kids, but they complain more than we’d like.

And there’s a parrallel in there for you.

With Oli (my eldest at 5 /12), I’ve started using an old phrase from my days as a Fitness First Club Manager.

“Bring me a solution not a problem”.

It was the favourite saying of my RBM (Regional Business Manager).

Who I never liked.

But that’s a different story.

And it’s a good saying.

I say it to Oli now when he starts complaining about something.

“Bring me a solution, not a problem”.

And he’s started coming up with the solution straight away some of the time.

“Daddy, I’m cold” becomes “Daddy, could you help me find my coat”.

“Daddy, I’m bored’ becomes ‘Daddy, can you help me start a game”.

And so on.

It’s a useful way of thinking and phrasing things.

Give it a go with any problems in your life.

“I’m not sleeping well” becomes “I need to get black out blinds, stop drinking caffeine late in the day, use a log to empty my mind of all the busyness and improve my bedtime routine”.

“I’m struggling with my food” becomes “I need to reply to this email and ask Jon and Matt for some advice”

“I’m not happy with the way I look” becomes “I need to join RISE” 😉

And so on.

Have a go and saying the solution, rather than the problem.

You probably know it already, but starting to say it is a powerful way to get your going on the path to doing it.

Much love,

P.S. Alex is out partying tonight (works do supposedly), so I’m hopefully going to finish that article on ‘Fat Talk’ for tomorrow.

P.P.S. You can see a little video slide show of Saturday’s social event here – next one is Go-Karting and VIP night out in Buxton on 15th Feb 🙂
