We mentioned in last Mondays blogs that it’s always interesting to see Facebook interaction between our new ninjas and their friends.

As our guys start checking-in at RISE page, there’s always a lot of questions and comments from people they know.

And quite often, it’s people giving their ‘reasons’ why they ‘cant’ do the same.

Last week we mentioned people saying they “get bored eating the same thing all the time”.

Even though there was no mention of doing that and that is far from what happens.

This week we noticed a couple of people commenting along the lines of “I wish I had money spare for something like that”.

As we’ve mentioned before, we’d never think to tell people what they should do.

But we do see it as part of what we do to help people question thought processes that might be holding them back from what they actually want.

And we’d never tell someone how they should spend their money.

Just help them realise what their options really are.

And, as always, we find it more powerful to tell stories of some of the real people we’ve known and met.

So here’s a few:

  • We have lots of members who have a low to moderate income (and kids) who chose to prioritise their health, happiness and longevity over things like nights out, nicer cars, nicer or more holidays and so on.

  • We’ve met plenty of people over the years on very good incomes, with very nice cars and regular holidays who’ve said they don’t have enough ‘spare’ money at the end of the month for even a basic gym membership.

  • From everyone we’ve ever met, there is little to no correlation between income and ‘spare’ money at the end of the month – our lives adjust to our income and we know people on low incomes who are making savings, people on high incomes who are spiraling into debt and everything in between.

If you’re waiting till you have ‘spare’ money before you start looking after yourself, you’ll be waiting a very long time.

So – if you’re already prioritising your health, happiness and longevity (and that doesn’t necessarily mean joining us, just doing something) over less important stuff, then well done 🙂

If you’re not, then, hopefully, this has helped you question some of the stories you’re telling yourself as to why you ‘can’t’.

And you’ll do something.

Again, doesn’t have to be with us.

But if you would like to find out more about what we do and our free ’20lbs in 8 weeks challenge’ then the briefing meeting for the final challenge of 2014 is in two weeks – check it out at myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting.

Much love,
