Take a large group of 7 to 9 year old boys.

 

Note: DO NOT DO THIS. You will have Operation Yew Tree knocking on your door.

 

Leave them, individually, alone with an awesome Robot Toy after telling them “It is wrong to play with the robot. If you play with the robot, I will be very angry and will have to do something about it”.

 

Nearly all will avoid the robot.

 

Six weeks later get the same children in for a ‘drawing test’.

 

In a room with five toys, one of which is the robot.

 

And tell them that they are free to play with any toy they like.

 

And 77% will start playing with the robot.

 

Repeat the same situation but just say “It is wrong to play with the robot” on the first test.

 

And, on the second test, only one third chose the robot.

 

I’m sure you can guess why.

 

When we’re told not to do something, not doing it for the amount of time someone is keeping an eye on us is relatively easy.

 

But we rebel at some point.

 

Be told you can’t eat / drink pasta, bread, cheese, pizza, take out, wine, beer, etc………

 

And you might not for a short while.

 

But our own experience and that of many people who come to us shows us…….

 

You will rebel at some point.

 

Not doing something because you’ve been told not to rarely works long term.

 

Genuinely coming to the belief that something is not ‘right’ or, at least, ‘in your best interests’…………

 

That’s where is becomes a much easier situation.

 

People often ask us “What can and can’t I eat?”

 

Our reply is always the same “You can eat whatever you like”

 

We will help them understand the different impacts different ways of eating will have on their body, long term.

 

We’ll help them question certain habits, beliefs and thought processes.

 

And the change in how they feel about their food and drink………..

 

The change in what they believe……….

 

Means the choices that are better for them longer term become much easier to make.

 

They often decide the way they ate before “just isn’t worth it”.

 

But, ultimately, it’s there life.

 

It’s your life.

 

Eat and drink what you like.

 

If you’re fully informed as to the consequences of your choices………

 

And you’ve questioned those habits, beliefs and thought processes………..

 

Then only you can make those choices 🙂
