You may know that in the first Monday of the month we have what we call ‘Coaching Day’.

Where we do assessments, interpretation and some goal setting and / course correction with the majority of our members.

Followed by a ‘mini workout’.

Every month there’s some amazing results.

And there’s some people who’ve gone a bit ‘backwards’.

And everything in between.

Whilst we are renowned for a results, we’re not going to claim it’s plain sailing all the time.

Life’s not like that.

It’s a fairly common suggestion from people when they’ve had particularly “disappointing” month that “I just need a good talking to”.

They want us to kinda ‘tell them off’.

To shame them back into the right direction.

And I see the thought process.

But chances are that person has had plenty of “talking to”s before.

From others and, probably more often, themselves.

And it hasn’t worked.

As it doesn’t for most of us.

No one likes being told off.

If anything it’ll probably make us do the opposite of what is intended.

We are emotional creatures.

What we need, perhaps, is a good “talking with”.

A two way conversation.

To determine what brakes need to me removed.

Rather than just pressing the accelerator harder.

To come up with an actual plan.

Rather than just trying the old one again.

As we always say, coaching is a two way process.

Not going in the direction you’d like at the speed you’d like?

Talk to us about it.
