Imagine you’ve bought a big house.

10 bedrooms.

And there’s 10 of you.

“Quick maths” as Big Shaq would say.

You then all sleep in the same room.

And complain about a lack of space.

Say the house was expensive because you’re not sleeping well.

When you’re not extracting the value of it.

Cost and value are separate things.

Cost is just the price of something.

Nothing can be cheap or expensive without context.

Value is what someone extracts from something.

You can’t be given value.

Chose to sleep in one room?

Chose to buy a season ticket and only go to 3 matches?

Buy a fancy bike then rarely go cycling?

Join a golf club for a couple of grand then only do a few rounds a year?

Those things didn’t become more expensive.

You just weren’t extracting the value.

It’s the same with our membership.

Sure, it costs a bit more than a gym.

And we get that gyms have classes.

So if someone chooses to turn up last minute to our sessions, leave straight away at the end, not interact much…………..

Not use the support systems, the Facebook group, coaching, etc…………

Then sure, the value might not seem worth it.

But that doesn’t mean it was expensive.

I’ll argue till the cows come home (where have they been? Work? School?) that our sessions are way more effective than a class at Globo-Gym.

But everyone will tell you that.

Our results come from the others stuff.

The supportive, welcoming environment you want to go to rather than dread.

The conversations with coaches.

The support systems.

The slowly getting in your head over time so the changes become “just what I do now”.

The having someone who actually cares that you get results rather than just calls you when you cancel your DD six months down the line (as always, it’s myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting if you like the sound of having someone who cares and wants you to get results).

Chose not to do them, that’s cool.

Your prerogative.

Fine if you’re getting results you’re happy with.

But if you’re not?

That’s just the equivalent of all piling into one room when there’s nine spare.

And then complaining how much the house cost.

Much love,

Jon ‘Escape’ Hall and Matt ‘Service’ Nicholson
