I’ve mentioned many times that a common reason people will give for not doing what they set out to do is a ‘lack of time’.
They haven’t done as many workouts as they intended because they’ve been “too busy”.
And, as always, I get it.
I get that we’re busy.
I just dispute that, in the vast majority of those cases, that we’re too busy to be doing more than we have been.
It’s not uncommon that I’ve had people say they’ve been too busy too do any Sessions……..
And I’ve seen them asking for box set recommendations on Facebook.
Often accompanied by huge list of the hundreds and hundreds of hours worth of TV that they’ve already watched.
Or I’ll ask them what their screen time looks like and they’ll look sheepish.
Now there’s nothing wrong with watching TV or looking at your phone.
Or any other “none-essential” uses of time.
We all do it.
And it’s easy.
So much easier than going for a workout.
More fun too.
But I would be doing people a disservice if I didn’t help them question how they’re currently assigning their time.
Because, remember, we can’t create or make time.
Just choose how we assign it.
And, as I’ve said before, I’ve never had a single person ever fill in a few days of a time log (as covered at www.myrise.co.uk/time) who hasn’t then realised that they can reassign at least a couple of hours a week.
And, of course, they don’t have to do that.
They can choose how to assign their time.
It’s their life.
Who would I be to tell them otherwise?
But realising that it is actually a choice is powerful.
Much love,
Jon ‘Boxcar Bob’ Hall
PS. I know the vast majority of the people won’t go to www.myrise.co.uk/time. And I’ll cover tomorrow what that essentially means.
P.P.S. And I know that the vast majority of people won’t click this link and nothing will change – www.myrise.co.uk/apply
