Got a great post in our members only Facebook group the other day.

 

From long term ninja Becca;

 

“I did the Congleton Park Run this morning and it was hard as l’m not a natural runner. I struggled in the heat. I was so worried about being last. I was 189th out of 198 runners which sounds terrible but then I got my stats from the Park Run team and it turns out I was 7th female in my age category!

 

That completely changed my perspective on the whole thing. No longer 9th from last, I was 7th female in my age category (50-54). I wouldn’t even have started running before the RISE, so thanks Ninja Coaches for making this possible”

 

Personal training aims

 

There’s a few things here.

 

Always remember that, whatever you’re doing, you’re running your own race.

 

 

Whether running, losing weight, getting stronger or whatever your personal training aims, you’re only really competing with yourself.

 

If you’re making forward progress, that’s awesome.

 

Doesn’t matter if someone else is making progress quicker.

 

Or started their journey earlier.

 

It’s your race.

 

Also, as I commented on Becca’s post;

 

Last > Did not finish > Did not start.

 

Whatever you’re doing, you’re “beating” the millions that aren’t.

 

Week on week, year on year, the majority of the population are sliding slowly backwards.

 

Whilst you’re not competing with them, it does help put things in perspective.

 

Making things better and you’re doing, at least, pretty good 🙂
