You remember that song that was on a lot a few months ago?

“Man’s not hot”

By Big Shaq.

My kids still like listening to it on the school run.

I’ll be honest, it’s been wearing a bit thin for months now.

But they had it one the other day and a lyric jumped out at me.

“Two plus two is four. Minus one that’s three. Quick maths”

####### It’s joke song by the way – Big Shaq is the comedy invention of Michael Dapaah ######

He had the right idea though.

Taking away.

That’s where it’s at.

Antoine de Saint Exupéry (French writer, poet and aviator) famously said;

“Perfection is attained not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing more to remove.”

When people start with us, they usually expect that they’ll have to do ‘more’.

And whilst they might do more of some things……….

Increasing our total amount of things being done is rarely the answer.

‘Working harder’ has a shelf life.

Especially when we were already working hard before.

In different areas maybe.

Work, family, etc.

But working hard nonetheless.

Achieving and maintaining our health and fitness goals long terms often comes from………..

Removing other things to make room.

Simplifying where possible.

Doing a bit less of some things.

Don’t just keep adding more onto an already full plate.

Look how you can make room.

Room for the things that will help you get the body, energy levels, health and fitness you desire!

Much love,

Jon ‘Caddy’ Hall and Matt ‘Ira’ Nicholson
