I was doing some baking with my niece the other day.

We used the electric whisk to mix the cake ingredients.

I detached the two beater bits and handed one to hear.

She looked at me confused.

“To lick” I told her, surprised she didn’t know.

“Yuck” came her reply.

“But……. that’s the best bit” I said.

She was the same minutes later with the bowl (she’s a bit of a fussy eater).

More for me though, so I wasn’t too bothered.

I did inform her that her great grand-mother would’ve clipped her round the ear if she was still around though.

But that is the best bit, isn’t it?

The cake is nice, sure.

But there’s nothing like licking the whisk, bowl, etc is there?

And it’s funny……….

Because you actually get way less food overall.

A handful of grams versus hundreds in the cake itself.

A few dozen calories versus thousands.

They should sell mix covered spoons or beaters.

Or mix glazed bowls.

As much, if not more, enjoyment.

A fraction of the ‘impact’.

Or, we could, of course, find our own versions of this.

Success in the olde weight loss, health and fitness game comes not from living like a monk and never again having to stuff we enjoy……….

But from finding that balance that still takes us in the right direction.

————- The find out more meeting is tomorrow night now if you, or a friend, want to find out about how we’ve helped hundreds of people in Macclesfield get amazing, life changing, lasting results without having to do boring exercise they hate and give up everything that they enjoy –> myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting ———–

Tactical lower calorie alternatives that we like just as (or nearly) as much.

Realising we get 90% of the enjoyment from one small slice as we do from a couple of big ones.

Making the bulk of what we eat relatively calorie sparse so we can ‘get away with’ some calorie dense stuff here and there.

Find you version of liking the bowl.

And do that more than you do ‘eat the entire cake’.

And you’ll be good 🙂

Much love,

Jon ‘My favourite memory of my Granny was going round and she’d made my favourite, Queen of Puddings, especially for me. That and playing cards and scrabble with her and her friend Mrs Fearn when we stayed over’ Hall and Matt ‘Bread and butter pudding’ Nicholson
