If your Facebook (other social media channels are available) feed is anything like mine, it’s probably full of weight loss stuff at the moment.

And there’s nothing necessarily wrong with that – we have an advert running as we do all year round.

But, I’ll be honest with you, there’s probably a lot of stuff on there that isn’t a great use of your money (unlike our Group Transformation Programme 😉 –> myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting).

Anything with the word Detox in probably isn’t a great investment.

After all, our bodies have done a perfectly good job of removing ‘toxins’ for a long time.

We don’t need anything to help us with that.

Or, if we do, it’s prescribed by a doctor, not a pyramid selling scheme (sorry, multi-level marketing).

Our bodies won’t detoxify and better by spending money on some product that suggests other wise.

And, really, we’re not actually putting any toxins in out body.

Not acute ones anyway.

Nothing (food and drink wise) we can get at Tesco (other supermarkets are available) will contain any actual toxicity.

There’s an argument that some things are chronically toxic – creating problems in the body after years, or decades, of heavy consumption.

But all MHRA approved products on sale in the UK will not cause any internal toxicity if taken in reasonable doses.

What we often really mean when we say ‘Detox’ is ‘Lesstox’ or maybe ‘Notox’.

Having less of that stuff that’s made us feel a bit crappy.

Any detoxification will be done automatically.

We actually really mean ‘Lesscrap’ or ‘Nocrap’.

Reducing what we’ve been doing over Christmas that’s left us feeling rotten this week.

Ultimately, if you’re making some better food and drink choices this week, that’s awesome.

Call it what you want.

‘Detox’ away!

Just don’t think you need any special teas or powders to help that process, to ‘cleanse’ us or anything else – the friend, fitness model or celebrity endorsing them didn’t get in better shape through using them.

At most, they got in better shape WHILST using them (if they did at all).

Much love,

Jon ‘BoomBod’ Hall and Matt ‘C9’ Nicholson
