I was chatting to some of our ninjas before a session the other week.

Asking what they’d been up to over the weekend and so on.

One of them, Ric, had been for a boozy weekend in London with “the boys”.

Ric has just received his Black Panther hoodie from us.

Which, if you don’t know, is earned by progressing through our Ninja Band system – designed to recognise, reward and, therefore, encourage, progess.

We’d put a picture of him receiving his hoodie on Facebook.

Ric’s mates had been messaging him after.

Saying things like “Do they know you drank?”

drinking and weight loss

Ie: Were we aware Ric had had a boozy weekend?

Like that would mean we’d take his Black Panther off him or something.

As Ric explained to his mates, we’re not fans of living like monks here.

Drinking and weight loss

An approach that, essentially, bans drinking and eating certain things, is rarely the long term answer.

For most it works for a short amount of time.

Until they ‘fall off the wagon’ by having a drink or a slice of cake.

And return to old habits.

Ric is a big boy who can make his own decisions.

He can do whatever he likes.

As can you.

And if the overall average of those decisions takes us in a direction that we’re happy with, then ‘happy days’ (Ric’s before and after pic suggests that’s the case).

If it doesn’t, that’s your call.

But we’d have you consider that that might not be the best approach.

The average of what we do is the key.

Just like one salad won’t make us slim, one boozy weekend won’t make us fat. Drinking and weight loss don’t have to cancel each other out.

Enjoy your life.

Don’t miss out.

Just adjust the rest of the week to balance it out.

Miss out on a weekend with mates and we have missed out 🙁

Cut portion size and / or make some tactical substitutions on a few breakfasts and lunches in the week to make up for it and that’s no biggie 🙂

Much love,

Jon ‘San Jose’ Hall and Matt ‘Amarillo’ Nicholson
