I was listening to the radio t’other day.

‘Counting Stars’ by One Republic came on.

There’s a great line in it.

“Everything that kills me makes me feel alive”

Which we get.

I think most FitPros get it really.

Just most feel the need to hide behind this FitPro mask.

Pretending it’s all easy.

As they feel it inspires people.

And that, if they admit things are hard, it gives clients an ‘out’.

We get that eating and drinking certain things makes you feel awesome.

We’ve been there.

After you’ve eaten a half a chocolate cake and downed a bottle of wine, you do feel great.

No denying it.

For a while, at least.

Same with 10 pints and a kebab.

Or even just a pack of biscuits and a bottle of coke.

The problem occurs, of course…….

In how all these things make you feel long term.

Or, at least, how too much / too often makes you feel.

We get that people feel run down, stressed out and generally a bit crap from their their busy and challenging lives.

We get that the easiest and quickest ways to feel better are often the ones that make you worse over time.

And we get that the things that will make things better long term, don’t always have that same instant effect.

And that they can be very unappealing when you find yourself at that ‘feeling a bit crap’ point.

Trying to decide what to do.

## As always, if you haven’t already, check myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting if you like the idea of going somewhere where people ‘get it’ rather than somewhere you’re just told to ‘try harder’ ##

Whilst we’re all for changing habits, mindsets and self limits beliefs………

We know that sometimes it’s a hard choice to make between that immediate feeling better and that longer term feeling better.

It’s like digging yourself out of a hole sometimes.

Sometimes it might feel like it’s getting worse before it’s getting better.

Sometimes it might feel like the effort isn’t worth it.

But……..

If there’s one thing we know after helping a thousand plus people over the years………

It’s that it’s worth it.

That combining working on mindsets, habits, etc………

That sometimes just sacrificing that short term pleasure for the longer term gain……….

Is something that those who’ve stuck with it have never regretted 🙂

Much love,

Jon ‘The Final Countdown’ Hall and Matt ‘You Can Count On Me’ Nicholson
