Those of you who have me as a Facebook chum may have seen that I spent Christmas lunch in the ‘Sub-Tropical Swimming Paradise’ at Centre Parcs with my girlfriend Alex and my two sons.

Which was cool.

The downside to that was I was doing that as we’d gone to see them as their mum had taken them to Centre Parcs for all of Christmas.

The presents Santa sent to Macclesfield are still waiting to be opened tonight 🙁

Anyhoo, I spoke to my sons on the phone early on Christmas Day and my eldest was upset that the ‘Remote Control Spider’ he’d already got didn’t have any batteries.

So, en route, we found the one shop open on Christmas Day and bought him the world’s most expensive batteries.

Yesterday I was in the pound shop in Macc and managed to get twice as many Duracell batteries for less than half the price.

It’s often the case that when we don’t plan ahead, things become more expensive.

Or that we spend the same on lower quality.

Like when we leave buying our meals to the last possible minute.

You know – popping to the shops for lunch and the healthy option costs loads more than the crappy ‘meal deal’.

Or there is no healthy option.

If we’d planned ahead and bought healthy ingredients in bulk, batch cooked some healthy meals and taken them with us, it wouldn’t have cost any more.

Possibly even less.

By leaving it till the last possible minute we make it inevitable that we’ll either need to spend more or cut back on quality.

Or both.

You get the idea – plan ahead and you’ll be laughing.

Look at what you have coming up this week and what meals you might need and when.

Plan your food shop and prep around that.

Boom!

Much love,
