I was in one of our GTP sessions the other day.
 
Taken by Faye, our newest coach.
 
She’s recently qualified after joining us 2 1/2 years ago and going through an insane transformation.
 
Check it:
 
## If you didn’t know, every one of our staff for the last four years has started as a member, achieved results, loved it, trained up and joined the team. They believe in the way we do things. It’s not just a pay cheque ##
 
She was doing the explanation and demonstrations at the start.
 
One of the exercises was pull ups on the rings.
 
She went through all the different variations so people could select the right one for them.
 
From both feet on the floor and using assistance from the legs so that you’re maybe lifting 20% of your weight………..
 
Through tiptoes on the floor………
 
To full hang into a Full range of motion pull up.
 
## Second aside if you weren’t aware – every exercise can be adjusted so that anyone of any fitness level, strength, experience, etc can do the appropriate version for them ##
 
After explaining the full hang pull up she finished with “I can’t do them. Yet”
 
Which I thought was great.
 
I’m sure when she joined Faye would’ve thought she would never be able to do a pull up.
 
Now it’s something she knows she’ll get to, given time.
 
If I’d asked Faye 2 1/2 years ago if she could do a pull up, I reckon I’d have got a flat “No”.
 
It’s a shift in mindset that massively aides all successful transformations.
 
Words like “Can’t” drop out of the vocabulary.
 
Replaced by “Not yet” and the like.
 
An understanding and belief that they can do anything given effort and time.
 
People may decide that effort and time aren’t worth it in some cases.
 
Most people settle at a level of body fat that is a nice balance with what they’re happy doing.
 
They could be leaner, in theory, but don’t feel that extra is worth what would need to be done.
 
Or could be stronger, fitter or faster but are happy with where they’ve got to.
 
But……..
 
They could do it.
 
Just like you can do it 🙂
