What is your personal training motivation?

You’ve heard the expression “Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world” I’m sure.

Archimedes apparently.

He was talking about actual levers, physics and all that.

Personal Training Motivation

But the same applies to our lives.

Where we often go wrong though is the picking of the wrong ‘fulcrum’.

Why You Might Lose Motivation

We have a thing that we think is what we want.

And we apply all this effort.

But it doesn’t quite happen.

The reasons are manifold of course.

But we find the better the reason, for you……….

The better positioned that fulcrum is, for you………..

The more easily you’ll be able to “move the world”.

Do We Really Want to Just Lose Weight?

We all think we want to lose weight to start.

Because that’s the terminology everyone uses. On TV adverts, at gyms, everywhere.

But, when push comes to shove, we don’t care what we weigh, do we?

If I could click my fingers and, by magic, you’d wake up tomorrow with the body of your favourite actor, athlete or model………..

You’d feel great, be happy with how you look and feel, etc……….

But the scales had to read three pounds heavier.

You’d take it, I’m sure.

I know I would.

What is Our Real Personal Training Motivation?

What we want is, usually, some combination of the following (and other things);

Feel better

Be happy with how we look

More energy

Better sleep

Better mood

More / better sex

Improved health

To, hopefully, live longer

To be around for the kids (and grandkids)

A more comfortable old age

To have the energy and patience to be a great parent

To set the kids an example to follow

To be able to do everything we want in life

And so on.

And I’m sure there’s many more.

The more we find that right ‘fulcrum’.

The more we find things we actually do care about……….

Rather than beating ourselves up for not caring about the thing we feel we are supposed to care about……….

The less effort we have to make to get those results 🙂

That’s your real personal training motivation.

If you’re already a member and you’re stuggling to get those results, maybe work on the ‘fulcrum’ you’re using.

If you’ve not checked us out yet, pop along to one of our no-pressure open evening at RISE in Macclesfield if you like the sound of the above
