💡💡💡

I promised you yesterday that Michelangelo quote.

And I’m sure you’ve barely been able to sleep with excitement since.

Quick digress though.

According to Wikipedia, he (Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni to give him his full, less catchy name) died on 18th February 1564.

Exactly 416 years before I was born for anyone that wants to start present shopping now 😉

Also, the portrait on his Wikipedia page (by Daniele da Volterra) makes him look a bit like a ‘Butler in the buff’ – topless with a bow tie on.

Anyway, his quote:

“I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free”

What he was after was always in there.

Nothing new was created.

Just the stuff ‘covering it up’ gradually removed until the inner beauty was revealed.

And we are much the same.

You don’t really need to change.

Not fundamentally.

When we talk ‘transformation’ it’s not about becoming a different person.

It’s more about gradually removing all that’s built up around you.

The self limiting beliefs.

The habits that don’t serve you well.

The long term solutions to short term problems that have stuck.

The complication and confusion.

The overwhelm.

The ways of dealing with life we’ve picked up from others that make it all harder than it has to be.

Until what’s left is the beauty of you.

That was always there underneath.

Much love,
