For those that don’t know, our members only website contains pretty much all the info anyone could need to go through our programmes.

And, therefore, to drop 20lbs and / or get a beach body.

It is, of course, designed to be used in conjunction with the face to face time we have with members.

Where we can help them with things they’re struggling with.

Make clear things that they didn’t quite ‘get’.

Give them systems, methods, etc to incorporate what we recommend into their already busy and challenging lives.

And so on.

But we ask that members check the relevant parts of the website first and come to us with questions.

Otherwise it would be a few extra full time members of staffs worth of time to go through everything one to one.

Therefore the first thing we normally check if someone has a question that’s answered on the members site………

Is if they’ve checked the relevant bit.

So we know what page we’re both on.

“Have you watched the XYZ video?” will normally be our first question.

And the answer, nearly always when someone is asking something that’s covered in them, is “No”.

Lack of time is usually given as the reason.

Even though we’ve always said they’ll get more from that than from an extra session.

Or we’ll have a chat with someone and direct them to a specific page or video for more info on it.

For example, show them some exercises that can help with back issues and direct them to where they can see videos to remind them of what to do.

Next time we’ll ask if they’ve been doing them.

“I forgot what to do” is sometimes the reply.

“Did you check the video?” we ask.

“I couldn’t find it” they respond.

“How long did you spend looking?”

“Erm, a few seconds I suppose.”

#################################

It’s something we’re ‘taught’ from an early age.

We see others doing it.

And we find it often works when we try it ourself.

Absolving ourselves of responsibility for not doing something…………..

By blaming a lack of information.

A lack of knowledge of what to do.

Even when that knowledge is at hand.

When it’s not a big effort to get it.

We don’t realise we’re doing it usually.

And we all do it.

Ourselves included.

But, as always, becoming aware of it is the important first step.

Stopping and thinking about what we need to know……….

And where that information is……….

And how to find it………..

Or who to ask where it is…………

Is key!

Spending two minutes finding that information will get you a million times better results………..

Than just carrying on as before, hoping for the best.

As always, if you haven’t tried out our challenges yet, and you’re not sure what to do, click here – www.theacdemygtc.co.uk/briefing-meeting 🙂
