I’ve mentioned many times before that conversations we have with fellow FitPros often have interesting parallels to your (and our) journeys.

There are other facilities that I sometimes train at near where my two eldest sons go to school (they spend half the week with me, half with their mum for those that don’t know) and where my family and my in-laws live.

I usually chat to the guys that run them whilst there.

Sometimes about general stuff.

Sometimes FitPro stuff.

One thing I get asked a lot about is Facebook marketing.

Either because they’ve seen we do a reasonable amount of it.

Or they’re just trying it and aren’t sure about it.

They often ask how much we spend on Facebook ads.

It varies month to month depending on how many people we need to replace any leavers.

But it’s a fair amount over the year.

##### We’re actually happy to spend more to get a Facebook user than a non-user as non-users won’t get the value of the content, support and interactions in our members’ only Facebook group. The average membership duration of a non-Facebook user is significantly lower than for users ####

They’re always surprised by how much.

And nearly always say “I / we can’t afford that”

Invest in your health

To which I always reply “I can’t afford not to”

Although our retention is good, people leave.

FitPros they don’t have leavers are lying to you and / or themselves.

It wouldn’t take many months of a few people leaving and less coming in for things to get tight.

Eventually, we’d be losing money.

By not spending that money on Facebook ads, we wouldn’t “get it back”.

Maybe in the first few months we would.

But over time we’d be down on the deal.

We have to assign a percentage of the businesses revenue to marketing or, one day, there might not be a business.

Invest in your health

It’s like our health.

It’s tempting to feel that we can’t afford to improve that.

Whether that’s money, time and / or effort.

But, I genuinely believe we can’t afford not to.

We won’t get that money, time or energy back.

Short term we will.

But it’ll catch up with us.

Might even take years.

But it won’t be worth it.

Older us won’t look back and thank us if we don’t look after ourselves.

Even if it meant we had a little more money or time to do something in the past.

Our kids won’t thank us.

Or our grand kids.

It doesn’t have to cost the world.

But it will cost something.

An investment in the future.

If you currently think the you of 10, 20 or 50 years time will thank you for the decisions you’re making now, then that’s great 🙂

If not, maybe this is a friendly and well meant bit of encouragement to Invest in your health and start some changes so he / she will! (like clicking this link –> myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting).

Much love,
