I got home the other day to find a bit of standoff between the wife and step-daughter.

 

Alex was trying to get Izzie, 6, to read her school book.

 

She didn’t want to.

 

“It’s boring this book. I want to read another one”

 

She’s always “known her own mind” has Izzie 😉

 

We explained to her that we understood that she didn’t particular want to read it and it may well be boring.

 

But it needed to be done.

 

And the sooner she got it done, the sooner she could do something she did want to do.

 

That spending extra time on and around stuff you don’t fancy, means you have less time for the stuff you do.

 

She quickly read through it and moved on to another book that she enjoyed.

 

It is, of course, the same with stuff in our lives.

 

Although we are all about changing mindsets, beliefs and habits……..

 

There will probably still be some bits you’re less keen on doing.

 

Or, at least, times that you’re less keen on doing them.

 

To do with the food, maybe.

 

Or the exercise.

 

Or related to sleep, stress, etc, etc.

 

We get that.

 

We feel the same sometimes.

 

And have worked with hundreds who of others who also do.

 

The key, as above, though………

 

Is just to get it done ASAP with a minimum of fuss.

 

And move onto the other good stuff that you do enjoy.

 

And, we generally find, the more you do the healthy eating and exercise, the more you enjoy the things you enjoy in life – more energy and enthusiasm for them.

 

And you find more and more things to enjoy – often stuff you never imagined you would like 🙂
