You ever had to miss work due to illness or injury?

I’d assume so.

Maybe had to take a day, a week, a month or more off?

When the thing that meant your couldn’t work (the illness of injury) had gone, did you ever think “I may as well just resign?”

“There’s no point going back now, I’ve got behind”.

“I’ve undone all the good work I did before, so there’s no point”

“I may as well just leave it and look for a new job in the new year”

“There’s no point starting back this month now we’re in to it – I’ll just write it off and start back next month”

I’d assume not.

Be a bit daft, that wouldn’t it?

But, we’re tempted to, or do, do the same with our health and fitness approaches, don’t we?

Can’t make a few workouts for genuine logistical reasons?

Or have a meal or two that isn’t as we’d ideally like?

And we do the equivalent of ‘resigning’ rather than just getting back to work ASAP.

And I get that it feels that we ‘need to’ get back to work.

For the money and other reasons.

But, do we not need to get back to looking after our health?

For the feeling better, having more energy, better mental focus, improved mood, increase likelihood of longevity and other reasons?

Sometimes you’ll need to have time off work.

Can’t be helped.

Sometimes you’ll need to have time of exercise and better eating.

Just get back to both as soon as possible (maybe by clicking this link if you haven’t already, just 8 day to our monthly find out more meeting –>  myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting):)

Much love,

Jon ‘Sir Alan’ Hall and Matt ‘Claude’ Nicholson
