It was GCSE and A-Level results a few weeks ago.

I’m sure we all remember our own exams of the past, have seen others go through them, or both.

Imagine your kid (or mate) says they’re not doing to turn up to the final exam.

“Why?” you may, reasonably, ask.

“I’ve worked out I can’t get an A* anymore. So I might as well leave it”.

Madness you would, rightly, call this.

“You may as well get what you can. You’ve put this amount of work in so far”

You know where I’m going, don’t you?

It’s the same with our week.

Or month.

It’s tempting to think that when we can’t make the three or more workouts we’d like to and have 21 ‘perfect’ meals……….

To not bother.

To “leave it” till next week / month.

But, when we think about it, that makes as much sense as leaving the exam because we can’t get an A*.

Even if that week can only be a C at best, that’s still worth doing.

It might keep us ‘stood still’ when we could’ve slipped backwards.

No ‘catching up’ needed next week (check myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting if you need to start going back in the right direction).

When people cancel with us because they “haven’t been coming enough to get my money’s worth” it makes me sad.

Doing what sessions they could, some home workouts from the app and using the supports systems is still waaaaayyyyy more beneficial than stopping completely.

Our health and happiness is invaluable.

Not something we should only do if we hit some notional cost – usage ratio.

As we always say, slowing down and speeding up as circumstance dictates is not a detriment to our success.

It’s a necessity.

Much love,

Jon ‘A*, A, A, A, A, A, A, A, C, C’ Hall and Matt ‘YMCA’ Nicholson
