You’re either aware or may have seen on Facebook that we’ve recently introduced a prize for Ninja Team of the Week.

Years ago we ‘gamified’ what we do to make it more fun and rewarding.

Everyone can score points by doing the things that will get them results.

They can ‘level up’, earn prizes and more.

Helps keep people focused and enjoying the whole process.

The team with top score each week, now wins the ‘RISE Ninjas of the week’ Championship belt .

Check it out, it’s a beaut –> www.facebook.com/theacademygtcmacclesfield/posts/1571922959528232

It’s based of the kind of belts you see in boxing, wrestling and similar sports.

We chose a belt because, man you feel pretty epic with one of those over your shoulder or round your waist.

I’m sure most people will have seen a photo of The Rock (now Hollywood’s biggest action star, Dwayne Johnson) looking like the coolest man alive with his title belt held overhead.

It Doesn’t Matter

One of The Rock’s main catchphrases was ‘It Doesn’t Matter’.

He even had hit record of that name with Wyclef Jean (Will.I.Am.’s mate from The Fugees).

But, do you know what else doesn’t matter?

Most of the our little day to day choices.

Someone offers us cake at work.

Just one slice.

It doesn’t matter.

An extra biscuit?

In doesn’t matter.

A few drinks of an evening?

It doesn’t matter.

Missing a workout because we’re not feeling it?

It doesn’t matter.

We have that little voice telling us “one won’t hurt”.

One “doesn’t matter”.

And it’s kinda true.

But those ‘ones’ quickly add up.

To the point where the do matter.

Where they derail us in achieving our goals.

Where they lead us to a body we don’t like the look and feel of.

That won’t always do what we’d like it to do.

So……….

How do we make it so it does matter?

How do we, in some small way, make it so we feel each of those little decisions does matter? How do we achieve fitness goals?

There’s no right or wrong answer.

How to Achieve Fitness Goals

I, personally, break down my goals into 90, then 30 day targets.

Of process goals – the stuff I have to do on a daily or weekly basis, not the end result it brings.

I have a little Excel spreadsheet that I track these things on.

And due to the wonders of conditional formatting, it turns red if I’m behind my target.

Me no like red.

So when I get behind, I make sure I catch up.

In situations where I might otherwise think “It doesn’t matter”.

Green makes me happy.

You could have a little wager with a friend.

Announce it publicly (on Facebook perhaps).

Just find some way to make those things that might not otherwise seem like they matter……….

Seem like they matter!

Much love,
