I mentioned a few months ago that, for my new car insurance, I have had to have a telematics box in my car, tracking my driving.

It’s gone back now.

It was an interesting experience.

Keeping under the speed limit was harder than I thought it would be.

Initially at least.

It’s made me realise that pretty much every time I approached a change in speed limit sign, I had previously ‘sped’ past it.

You know, hitting 37mph as you pass the sign moving from a 30 to a 40 zone.

Or, vice versa, still doing 40 when you pass the sign dropping you to a 30.

I was probably breaking the speed limit several times (or more) per day.

And there’s certain routes round here where I now quickly build up a line of frustrated looking drivers behind me.

Every single one of us in that line would be speeding, to some degree, if it wasn’t for that box.

Sometimes an intervention like that can make us realise how we’re not doing things quite as we thought.

Close maybe.

But not quite.

Bit like accurately tracking our food for three days.

Just like the difference in our speed of just a few miles per hours can be the difference between nothing happening and speeding fines and increased car insurance (or worse)………….

Tracking can highlight the difference between what we thought should be helping us lose weight and what’s actually causing us to gain weight.

When forced to face cold hard facts………

What’s happening isn’t always quite what we thought it was.

If you’re not sure how much you’re speeding, a telematics box will quickly make you realise.

If you’re not sure why you’re not losing weight (quicker) then three days of accurate tracking with an app like MyFitnessPal will quickly make you realise.

Much love,

Jon ‘Telekinesis’ Hall and Matt ‘Telly Savalis’ Nicholson

P.S. You know the deal. I’ll always mention it somewhere. Helps feed my kids you know? And, more importantly to you, gives you (or a friend) and opportunity to transform your / their life and body — > LINK 🙂
