Tuesday 6th June 1944.

D-Day.

Operation Neptune.

The largest seaborne invasion in history.

The Allied forces invade Normandy creating a huge turning point in World War II that would see them go on to win it.

An airbone assault of 24,000 troops followed by 156,000 from the sea.

Sounds pretty complex, no?

Well General Montgomery’s plan came on a single, hand written A4 sheet.

Simplicity, he said, was the key.

No over-complication for over-complication’s sake.

It never helps.

All the great plans are a simple as they, realistically, can be.

Same with your plan to get in shape.

You could pretty much summarise our programme like this:

Eat mainly natural foods with a balance of protein, carbs and fats, most of the time.

Not too much.

Drink plenty of water and not too much other stuff.

Turn up for a session three or more times a week.

That’s pretty much it.

Simples, no?

Easy?

Maybe not always (check myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting if you like the idea of support with the tricky stuff and having a ‘done-for-you’ session you just have to turn up to join in with).

But definitely simple.

No confusion here.

No over-complication for over-complication’s sake.

It’s human nature to over-complicate things we struggle with.

Kinda gives us more of a reason to struggle.

So, remove that complication.

Getting in shape can be very simple.

Find the real reason if you’re struggling.

And work on that!

Much love,

P.S. A bonus point for Matt’s middle name, without googling. Tricky that one!
