A little bit easier to do much less accurate [Intuitive eating]

While we’re talking about ‘classic’ films (yesterday’s blog on Top Gun) who remembers ‘Robin Hood – Prince of Thieves’?

The 1991 film starting Kevin Costner as Robin.

What’s the classic image from that film?

You’ll probably think of that slow mo shot of Robin giving the executioner, who’s about to behead half-brother Will Scarlett (Christian Slater), ye olde ‘flaming arrow to the forehead’.

Here it is if you’ve never seen it –>

That slow draw back really works for him, doesn’t it?

But it doesn’t for us most of the time.

And concentrating solely on said ‘slow drawback’ is often the reason we struggle to make those ‘better choices’.

When faced with the choice of what to eat……..

Or if we should have some more………

Or if we should have (another) drink……….

Then ‘not being slimmer in six months’ doesn’t really do much for us, does it?

‘Living longer’ sounds great, but that’s (hopefully) decades away anyway.

But there’ll probably me ‘faster’ drawbacks that we can bring to mind.

Knowing we’ll immediately regret it.

Feeling worse after.

Feeling worse tomorrow.

Being grumpier perhaps.

Enjoying the rest of the day (other than the next five seconds or minutes) less.

The quicker the drawback the better for us 🙂

Much love,

‘Little’ Jon Hall

P.S. The drawback of not clicking this link and coming down tonight to find out more about what we do is another month of the body and energy you don’t want –> myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting.
