“I want to turn some of this fat into muscle”

This is a common phrase amongst new folks at RISE.

Or people when they first join a gym.

Or a bootcamp.

And you know what most FitPros reply with?

“That’s impossible. They’re two completely different things. That’s like saying you want to turn skin into bone. You need to lose fat and build some muscle”.

And what does the new person hear?

“You don’t belong here. You’re not like us. You’re stupid”

Same with the guys who start telling you that there’s no such thing as ‘toning up’.

Or a ‘detox’.

Off the new person goes, never to return.

Further convinced that they just “aren’t the sort of person who’ll ever be in shape”.

It’s a shame.

So many people who’ve chosen to work in this industry because they want to help others.

And they have a complete inability to communicate well with the very people they want to help.

There’s a reason the average FitPro would earn more flipping burgers in McDonalds.

And it’s not because they don’t know enough about exercise and healthy eating.

So, if you want to turn some fat into muscle, tone up and detox, then that’s cool.

We know what you mean.

And we’re here to help you with that 🙂

Much love,

Jon ‘Wish I could take a bit of size off my head and rebuild my neck with it’ Hall and Matt ‘Could turn the weird lump on my thumb into more bicep size’ Nicholson

P.S. Quick reminder that it’s the find-out-more meeting for the June ‘FREE 20lbs in 8 weeks challenge’ (and normal membership for those with less than 20lbs to lose) tonight. See myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting 🙂
