I mentioned in yesterday’s blog about how a lot of the things that we find hard to do aren’t actually as hard as we thought they would be when we’re doing them.
And I said I would talk today about life in general being hard.
I heard a phrase a few years ago from my coach that really stuck with me.
“Life’s supposed to be hard”
“How do I know?”
“Because it’s always is”
Because, let’s face it, if there’s one thing that makes the challenges of life harder than they have to be……….
It’s arguing with reality.
When we tell ourselves “It shouldn’t be this difficult”……….
And “life shouldn’t be this hard”………
We’re doing the equivalent of the old man shaking his fist at the cloud.
None of this is to diminish the challenges that we face, of course.
But if every single human on the planet faces, challenges and hardships……….
Then why should we be any different?
When we accept these difficulties are always going to happen and there’s no getting away from that………..
We can change the conversation in our head to acceptance of what we can’t change………
And a willingness to change what we can (clicking www.myrise.co.uk/apply when you’re ready to stop lone wolfing and get some proven help with that).
Much love,
