So, I paid the final balance on my taxes at the end of January.

A whole day before deadline.

Always a little painful seeing how much of your hard earned cash you’ve handed over to the tax man isn’t it?

No one really wants to do it, do they?

But, it’s got to be done, hasn’t it?

And it’s hard to always notice the benefits of our taxes.

As it covers things we’ve just become very much used to.

But that we’d soon notice if we all stopped paying our taxes.

As hospitals and schools closed.

The roads became riddled with potholes.

Crime rose.

And so on.

And it’s kinda the same with looking after your body.

Through exercise and eating well.

We don’t always see the benefits.

Because we can never see what our bodies would be like if we hadn’t been putting that investment in.

While ever better schools and lower crime rates are a great idea and something to aim for…………..

There is value in them not getting worse.

And while and ever slimmer, stronger, faster and healthier body are a great idea and something to aim for…………..

There is a value in maintenance (or even slowing regression) there too.

And that monthly reduction in take home is always preferable to being hit with a big bill in the future that we can’t pay (check myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting for help avoiding that)!

It would be great if we could not pay taxes and live in a crime free world where everything was taken care of.

But it ain’t gonna happen.

It would be great if we could eat and drink anything and everything and not exercise and our bodies wouldn’t get worse.

But that aint’ gonna happen either.

Much love,

Jon ‘Revolver’ Hall and Matt ‘Credits’ Nicholson

P.S. 5 points for my middle name there 😉
