If there is one thing that we find that people struggle the most with……..

It’s ‘motivation’.
People always start our programmes with loads of it.
And it, inevitably, wanes to some degree.
That’s just life.
I think you’ll struggle to find a single thing in life that you feel quite the same about after a few months than you do when you first start it.
They don’t necessarily lose all motivation.
But it always drops somewhat.
It’ll come back sometime.
Then drop again for a while.
And one of the most important mindset shifts people can make is………
That this is fine.
That everyone feels this way.
That those who have achieved great results feel the same way.
But they’ve realised the importance of still doing what they know they should do……..
When they don’t feel like it.
And they’ve realised that by far the quickest way to regain motivation…….
Is to keep going.
Stopping always makes it much longer till that motivation comes back.
Motivation does have its place.
It’s great for accelerating progress……..
Then, maybe, slowing when motivation goes.
Not stopping though.
It’s great for putting things in place to help you carry you through the harder patches.
Commitments with others (one of the main reason our the ‘skin in the game’ we have for our challengers helps our great success rate –> myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting).
Getting things ordered or done.
Healthy food shops.
Batch cooking meals.
Anything.
I often write these blogs in bulk.
When I’m feeling ‘creative’ and ‘in the mood’.
So there’s plenty of half written ones that just need fleshing out when I reach an uninspired patch.
Infact I’m actually on annual leave with my family this week.
And I used a particularly ‘motivated’ period a few weeks ago to get ahead on these blogs.
Rather than just waiting till the the last possible moment.
And it not happening.
You get the idea – make hay while the sun shines.
Use periods of motivation to accelerate progress.
But don’t rely on it.
And remember it always comes back quicker if you keep going.
Much love,
