My wife was telling me about a really interesting thing that they’ve implemented at her work recently.

It’s called a “Manual of me”.

An explanation of their working style and how to get the most out of working with them.

Which I thought was really cool.

Other people understand how best to work with you.

And you to understand yourself and how to approach things to get the best results for everyone involved.

Win-win.

And it got me thinking about how we could do an equivalent for ourselves.

Not necessarily an official document that we give out to those in our lives.

But some version of it.

Giving some thought to how best to approach a health and fitness goals in a way that works for us.

Not necessarily the theoretically “best way” (when you’re ready to accept better results overall through knowingly sub-optimal and done over theoretically better and deferred then www.myrise.co.uk/apply is where you’ll find that).

How to communicate to others that are involved in some of those decisions and situation what we’d appreciate them doing.

Maybe not tempting us with food and drink.

Maybe not trying to make us feel bad for making different choices.

They can still continue to do what they like with their lives, of course.

But if we communicate to them what we would appreciate them doing…….

And if we are someone that they care about…….

There are way more likely to then do that thing than if just tell ourselves that they “should” or “ought to” be.

Much love,

Jon ‘Stick shift’ Hall
