My two oldest sons have gotten really into their training recently.

I was chatting to them the other day about the workouts I’d done recently.

And they pointed out that I hadn’t done much leg work in that time frame.

They were right.

Through a combination of being busy and my various injuries playing up, I hadn’t.

“You should never skip leg day” that they said.

To which I replied in the same way that I have to similar comments over the years.

“I’ll skip leg day all I like, thanks”

“My body, I’ll do with it what I want”

Now I fully appreciate the benefits of a well-rounded workout approach.

And I know they were joking.

But I do always find an interesting what levels of unrequested ‘body commentary’ are and aren’t generally acceptable.

I’ve had similar comments on various social media posts over the years.

And seen them on countless others.

Imagine if I commented on a picture of someone who is carrying extra body fat with “never skip salad day”.

Or on a post about a disappointing exam result with “you shouldn’t have skipped revision”.

I’d, rightly, be called a “kn0b”.

Ultimately, they are our bodies to do with what we like.

But, if you want to make changes to the size and / or shape of them and or what they do……..

We can help with that (take the next step at www.myrise.co.uk/apply to find out how).

Much love,

Jon ‘ny the bush kangaroo’ Hall
