I did a video about this t’other week.

But not everyone sees the videos.

And some people get more from yeah olde written word.

So thought it was worth repeating here.

Our new Black Panther, and poster boy, Ronnie Beaver tagged me in a Facebook post recently.

‘Blue Ronnie’, as it says on his Black Panther hoodie, was wondering what I thought of it.

He’s a City fan BTW, not a constant swearer.

Although some would argue the latter would be less offensive 😉

It was from a local gym.

Saying that you had two Options when losing weight.

Option A involved cutting out all your favourite foods.

Option B involved limiting portions, and hence calories, and increasing calorie burn.

Both work of course and would lead to weight loss.

And they pointed out they preferred Option B out of those choices.

But, as I said in reply to Ronnie’s comment, I preferred Option C.

What we do – changing mind sets, beliefs and habits, real balanced diet of natural foods, etc.

#########################

It’s a mistake we often make.

Falsely limiting ourselves to two options.

“Do I go to the RISE / gym / run tonight or do I leave it?”

“Am I going to eat well this weekend or have a blowout?”

“Am I going to have a really good breakfast or skip it?”

And so on.

There’s no reason they are the only options in those cases.

We’ve just made them so in our minds.

Instead of the workout you had planned you could do some hill sprints, some press-ups infront of the TV, a 5 minute stretch before bed and so on.

Just because someone misses a planned workout doesn’t mean the next option is nothing.

If part of a weekend might involve less good food or some alcohol, it doesn’t mean the rest can’t still be good.

A little healthy breakfast is better than none.

And so on.

So, next time you’re faced with a choice, ask yourself if there is an Option C.

Or D, E, F, G or H.

Life is rarely as black or white as we tend to make it.

Much love,
