I mentioned the other week that we had a Race Night for our monthly social event recently.

It was also leaving drinks for Coach Andy who’s since gone to seek his fame and fortune in London town.

We got a photo of all of us together sending him off.

As we were getting assembled, one the of ninjas Adam, went to put his beer down saying “That’s probably not a good advert for RISE”

Have fun and lose weight

I replied that, in my opinion it was the opposite.

Adam has got in fantastic shape since his wife Claire persuaded him to join last Autumn.

An old photo that Claire shared on Facebook recently really showed how far they’ve both come.

And he’s done that while still drinking beer.

Still going to BBQs.

Not dodging social events.

Having a good time.

Have fun and lose weight

This is where the majority of the fitness industry goes wrong.

They show how to be in great shape whilst being miserable.

How to get abs while completely cutting out stuff you enjoy – food, drink, etc.

And it puts most off even trying.

Sure, getting in shape will involve some changes (and, maybe, some help from people that have helped hundreds of others make those lasting changes –> myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting).

If it didn’t, we’d already be there.

But those changes don’t have to be so huge and drastic that we can’t stick to them.

A few adjustments here and there.

A bit of questioning of mindsets around all these things.

Still enjoying our food, but maybe enjoying some different foods and / or some changes in portion size.

Still having a drink or two.

But, maybe not twenty. Have fun and lose weight.

It’s when we think that we think what needs to be done is beyond us and, therefore, don’t do it at all, that we don’t get results.

Make an amount of changes that take you in a positive direction but that you feel to me maintainable.

And time will do the rest 🙂

Much love,

P.S. Yesterday’s middle names was other famous people called Carlton (like Palmer). Carlton Cole played a few games for England about 10 years ago. Carlton Banks was Will Smith’s cousin in the Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
