If you listen to the average FitPro (not advisable) then they’ll tell you things like “Quitting is not an option”.
Or something like “Winners never quit. Quitters never win”
Or they’ll share memes that give that or similar messages at least.
Madness!
Nothing wrong with quitting.
We all quit things all the time.
Why push on with something that isn’t working?
Those FitPros will have quit plenty of time at various things over the years.
Quitting is fine.
In the right places.
When we don’t feel we can quit……….
We’re less likely to even start.
If we give ourselves permission to ‘quit’ at any point………
We’re waaaayyyyy more likely to do something.
Don’t feel up to a full workout?
Just go and start one.
Give yourself permission to ‘quit’ at any point.
You may do the whole thing.
You may do just some.
Either way, you’ll do more than nothing.
Don’t feel you can commit to healthy eating every meal for the rest of your life (I know I couldn’t)?
Start doing some (maybe by clicking this link –> myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting).
Exercise pressure
‘Quit’ periodically.
Get pissed, have some cake.
But then don’t let that set the tone for the next day’s / week’s / month’s food and drink decisions.
Carry on as you were with that permission to ‘quit’ when you feel the need. Relieve yourself of that exercise pressure.
Quitting IS an option.
Just get started and know you can stop at any time.
And when you stop you can restart just as quickly if you choose to 🙂
