You may have seen the following quote from the 2006 Rocky follow up ‘Rocky Balboa’.

“The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done!”

If you have FitPro friends you probably see it shared as a meme on a nearly daily basis.

But, as any good boxer will tell you, this is, at most, only part of the answer.

If you keep getting hit in exactly the same way……….

Keep getting knocked down………..

Then, maybe, it’s time to look at tweaking your style.

Your approach.

To, maybe, avoid getting hit so much.

Most FitPros embrace ‘the grind’.

They listen to Gary Vee and decide to hustle even harder.

#TeamNoSleep

It’s all about how much you can suffer.

Both for them and their clients.

But………..

You can’t create a life you love doing things you loathe!

There’s no happy ending to an unhappy journey.

They grow to hate their businesses as they are working all the hours under the sun for minimal income.

Attracting clients they don’t like working with.

And if we try and lose weight, get fitter and healthier, etc by doing things we don’t enjoy………..

We’re not going to get and stay there, long term.

Whilst life will give us knocks along the way, sure.

That’s unavoidable.

But, if our approach involves getting ‘put on our asses’ too many times……….

Then can it be the right approach for us?

Will we get ‘there’?

Will it be worth it if we do?

Is having 4 or 14% body fat (male / female) worth it if you haven’t socialised in months and have been miserable?

Find a balance.

Stuff you find somewhere between tolerable and enjoyable.

Eating and exercise wise (maybe with us and the support of like minded ninjas –> myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting).

Have the occasional ‘sprint’ in results as your motivation and circumstance allows.

Struggle is fine along the way.

Suffering isn’t.

We keep moving forwards by learning how not to get hit, not withstanding more punches.

Much love,

Jon ‘Miavia’ Hall and Matt ‘Out crop’ Nicholson
