I’ve mentioned before about various conversations we have with other FitPros.

 

And the insight it often gives us into why many people get minimal success working with them.

 

I was training with one recently.

 

And he asked what I was doing after.

 

I mentioned I was doing a live stream video in our members group at 2.15.

 

It was about why people might get a bit ‘head in the sand’ sometimes.

 

And that I was using it to, hopefully, get people to question some of the thought processes that may have been limiting them recently.

 

“Yeah” he said. “Sometimes you’ve got to be hard on them”.

 

To which I raised an eyebrow – that wasn’t the point I’d been making, at all.

 

He started describing one of his clients – a 20-plus stone lady.who had been struggling to make progress.

 

“Sometimes I think I just need to be harder on her” he said.

 

“Trust me” I responded “She’ll be harder on herself then you could ever be”

All these blogs have ever meant to do, is to help you in some way.

 

Whether giving literal ‘things to do’ type info.

 

Or, more often, helping challenge the mindsets, thought processes, habits and self limiting beliefs that we all have that hold us all back in different ways.

 

Exercise Mindset

 

Being harder on yourself works for some people. If that’s your exercise mindset.

 

And generally only in certain ways.

 

Ie: It might for their work, but not for them losing weight.

 

Or vice versa.

 

If being hard on yourself works for you, then crack on mon ami!

 

But, if it doesn’t, then being even harder on yourself isn’t the answer.

 

It’s like pushing the accelerator even harder……….

 

While the handbrake is still on.

 

Exercise Mindset

 

We need to figure out what our brakes are.

 

What’s holding us back?

 

Whether in our own heads or in the real world.

 

If we can’t do anything, then we don’t need to worry about it.

 

But, if we can do something about it, then let’s start on that.

 

Chip it away bit by bit 🙂
