Another very common conversation I have with people is about how social media makes them feel.

About how it makes them feel bad about themselves and their lives.

Or it annoys them.

Maybe it’s “a cesspool of negativity”?

A massive realisation that we can make is that social media just feeds us more of what it thinks we like.

Based on our interactions with it.

The more time we spend reading certain things, commenting on an interacting with them…….

The more of that kind of stuff it will feed us.

My social media feed is overwhelmingly positive.

Because I interact with friends and people that I like.

It shows me adverts that interest me.

If there’s something that I’m less keen on, I scroll past or maybe tap the three dots in the corner and get it hidden.

Ultimately, social media is a tool.

It’s up to us how we use it and the impact that then has on how we feel.

Much love,

Jon ‘Tool’ Hall
