By the time most people come to us they’ve tried a number of different approaches to the old weigh / health / fitness game.

 

With varying successes.

 

By definition though, these other things haven’t worked sufficiently well for them consistently over time.

 

If they had, they wouldn’t come to see us.

 

But it often takes time to ‘let go’ of certain methods.

 

Because they may have had some short term success with them.

 

Or know someone who has.

 

Or it intuitively seems to make sense.

 

Juicing is one of these approaches.

 

On the surface it sounds great.

 

The convenience and the simplicity.

 

Being based around the concept of getting fruit and veg in an easier to use format seems appealing.

 

And it invariably works short term.

 

But we’ve yet to meet someone who’s juiced successfully and maintained their results for, say, 5 years or more.

 

Not to say no one has or will.

 

But when so few, at most do, it’s not something we can ‘get behind’.

 

A really easy way to see through the appealing concept is to compare the nutritional value to a directly comparable alternative.

 

Sweets and vitamin pills.

 

A standard ‘juice’ has approximately the same nutritional content as a fruit pastille and a multi-vitamin.

 

I’m not saying that’s a good thing or bad thing.

 

But a ‘diet plan’ that involved having a multi vit and a fruit pastille for breakfast and lunch and a ‘proper meal’ for tea………

 

Sounds a little less appealing, no?
