You remember that story about the Emporer’s new clothes?

Dude gets fleeced by some con-men who tell him they’ve made him super fine threads that only the brainiest can see.

He is, of course, naked.

Simple Weight Loss Advice

But he, and everyone else, don’t want to admit that they can’t see them.

He’s wandering around town, giving it loads, when a kid jumps out and says “The Emperor is in the all together”

We sometimes feel like that kid.

Having to point out the things that are actually obvious but people don’t say because they’re trying to look smart.

The FitPro who’s read a Charles Poliquin blog post and suddenly thinks he is an endocrinologist or a be-caped super-hero called ‘Hormone Man’.

Telling everyone that weight loss and gain is just about hormones and nothing to do with energy balance.

Hell, we’ve headed a bit too far down that path in the past.

Or reporting some misquoted ‘stat’ as fact.

“Tabata training burns nine times more belly fat than steady state cardio”

How is that possible?

Just generally proclaiming their way of eating and exercising to be massively more effective that everyone else’s.

When the research shows, that in controlled energy matched studies, there is little to no difference (from a weight loss perspective, at least).

Simple Weight Loss Advice

FitPros often feel the need to justify their existence by giving the most ‘advanced’ advice they can.

Which is often the most confusing and hardest to follow for most of their customers.

From our experience, simple weight loss advice is the best way for most (check RISE in Macclesfield’s joining information for a simple, but mega effective, approach).

We should only complicate it when we’ve got the most we can out of the simple stuff.

If we can’t write our approach to what we’re doing on the back of a stamp…………

Then turning it into War and Peace won’t help!

Much love,
