Who remembers The Levellers?
The were huge around the time I started secondary school.
Although their Wikipedia page suggest they were bigger around the time I did my GCSEs.
Which suggest that either we were ahead of the times at my school.
Or I’m miss-remembering 😉
Anyway, I used to love their song ‘One Way’.
“There’s only one way of life” it began.
“And that’s your own, your own, your own.”
True story, of course.
One thing that people often point out that they like about our approach is that we don’t tell them what they should do (check myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting if you like the sound of that).
You know, what they can and can’t eat, how they should exercise, etc.
We will, of course, advise them of which ways will get them towards their goals and which ways will take them away.
To the pros and cons of different approaches.
How and why some things work and others don’t so much.
We’ll help them with mindsets, habits and self-limiting beliefs that might be holding them back.
But you can do what you like.
Tis your life, of course.
You’ve got to be happy with it.
There are people who enjoy living on chicken and broccoli.
Fair play to them!
But, if you don’t (and neither do we), then the key (at least in my book) is find that balance.
Between things that will take you in the direction you want.
Towards your goals.
And things you are happy doing.
Or can, at least tolerate.
Get that balance and you will get there.
The only question is how long it will take 🙂
Much love,
Jon ‘The Boatman’ Hall and Matt ‘What A Beautiful Day’ Nicholson
