We’ve written many times about the challenges people face, particularly when they first start to make changes.

When they first start to change their eating.

Maybe start drinking less, or different drinks.

Reduce caffeine and up the water.

Start exercising regularly.

And some ‘friend’ tries to derail you.

Starts making little comments.

About you being boring.

Or “No fun any more”.

Or stronger language.

Or they actually try and sabotage you.

Bring you biscuits, beer, wine, etc when you’ve said you don’t want them.

Or worse.

For those people that do that, we have a suggestion…..

THEY ARE NOT A FRIEND

Colleague?

Acquaintance?

Member of a social group you’re part of?

Someone you like hanging out with?

Sure, can be any or all of the above.

But friend?

Is that what friends do to each other?

Would you do that to a genuine friend?

Doesn’t mean you need to stop seeing them.

That might not even be an option.

But you might.

Doesn’t mean anything necessarily changes.

But it might.

But realising that they aren’t actually a friend is a good start to putting their behaviour into context.

And, hopefully, not letting it derail you.

Much love,
