If you were a young boy in the 60s, 70s or 80s you probably had an Action Man.
Maybe you had one if you were a young girl then, but they were definitely more ‘binary’ times.
You remember, don’t you?
The wiggly eyes from the switch on the back of his head.
The lack of genitals (I assume I wasn’t the only one who checked).
The general being a bad ass who got stuff doneness.
Classic toy!
He didn’t have a mate called ‘Thinking Man’ though did he?
Wouldn’t have been such a good toy, would it?
Thinking is, of course, essential.
But, by itself, it achieves nothing.
Action is key.
It’s the taking our thoughts and doing something with them that results in things happening.
We can’t miss the thinking bit.
Action without thought will probably not end well.
But it’s easy to ‘over think’.
Often we’ve done enough thinking pretty early on.
There, perhaps, isn’t as much to think about as we think there is.
Thinking turns into procrastinating.
We keep thinking about the same things over and over when we already have the answers.
The best results in pretty much any area come from just enough thinking.
Followed by action.
Then maybe a bit more thinking along the way.
To correct course a little.
To make adjustments as you progress.
But if you’ve been thinking about something for a while………….
It’s time to remember that ‘Thinking Man’ was never a thing.
He didn’t save every one and then get a kiss from Barbie at the end (possibly also just me).
Think enough.
Then take action (maybe by click in this link –> myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting)!
Much love,
