I’m writing this blog on my laptop.

The laptop has been telling me for weeks that I’m “nearly out of space”.

Today it became full.

I couldn’t transfer the stuff off my phone I wanted to (these video testimonials if you want to check them out –> www.facebook.com/theacademygtcmacclesfield/videos).

And it was going insanely slow.

So I’ve had a clear out.

Deleted loads of old files I don’t need.

Uninstalled several programmes I haven’t used in some time.

And, low and behold, it’s running much quicker again.

The same happens when our ‘mental hard drives’ get to full.

We run out of space for other stuff.

And our processing power dips.

This is where most FitPros go wrong with their clients.

Just giving them EVEN MORE stuff to do on top of everything else in their already busy and challenging lives.

Because most FitPros are in their 20s, no kids and live with their Mum (Note: There are some brilliant FitPros who are in their 20s, no kids and live with their Mum. Just not a high percentage).

I know how challenging life can be.

This morning I had to get all four kids up, fed, ready and out before 8 to drop them at a nursery and school in Macc and another school near Bakewell (20+ miles away) before 9.

Later I have to pick them all up (again 20+ miles apart), get them to / from Jungle Fit, Swimming and Trampolining, feed them, do homework and reading, bedtime, etc.

##### I’ll be sticking up some Jungle Fit videos at www.facebook.com/theacademygtcmacclesfield/videos as well. Check them out comment on them if you’d like to find out more about these workout classes for 7 to 11 year olds #######

The one year old will then have me up repeatedly in the night.

(Note: I do have a wife that does her share, and more, on most days. But she’s had to go in early and is working late today).

When I see other FitPros say people with equally busy lives (most people reading this, give or take, I should imagine) “Don’t want it badly enough” when they struggle to do the massive list of instructions that’s been given to them, I wince.

Long term success rarely comes from a list of instructions to follow, on top of everything else.

It comes from simplifying everything else, as much as possible.

Uninstalling those programmes.

Planning ahead to ensure healthy meal sourcing and prep actually takes less time and effort, not more.

Scheduling workouts in the same way you do other none negotiable tasks!

Making those workouts as time efficient as possible.

From freeing up that ‘mental space’ through simplification of our lives where we can.

And from relaxation techniques (I meditate for 10 minutes every morning, which buys be back waaaayyyyy more than 10 minutes worth of effectiveness later in the day).

And from, where relevant, challenging our self limiting beliefs around all of the above.

If you’re struggling to ‘add more files’ then maybe it’s time to have a ‘hard drive clear out’?

Much love,

Jon ‘RAM’ Hall and Matt ‘Reboot’ Nicholson
