As I mentioned yesterday, today I’m going to cover what exercise to do from a strength, fitness, etc perspective.

And, as I also mentioned yesterday it really depends what you want your body to be able to do.

The right exercise choice for you should really boil down to two things:

1. Does it roughly replicate the type of things you want your body to be able to do in every day life?

2. Again, is it enjoyable or tolerable enough that you can see yourself doing it for the foreseeable future.

More ‘extreme’ fitness programmes have become well known in recent years.

And they’re great if you want your body to be able to do more ‘extreme’ stuff.

Running (with some supportive work) is great if you want to improve your running.

Same with cycling.

Yoga is great for flexibility, core control and relaxation.

And so on.

Our sessions are designed to improve the ‘performance’ of the average sort of person that joins us.

They want to be able to keep up with the kids all day.

To do daily activities and work stuff more easily.

To not be knackered at the end of the day.

To get rid of (or, at least, minimise) those aches and pains.

To be flexible enough for the things they actually do regularly.

To be able to explore new activities and hobbies that they, perhaps, wouldn’t have felt confident with or able to do before.

And, importantly, anyone can do them.

And they can take that strength, fitness, etc as far as they’d like.

From members who’ve not exercised in decades and have several stone to lose.

Right through to our European powerlifting champions, world record deadlifter, competitive runners and semi pro athletes.

## It always amuses me when the local ‘extreme’ fitness options call our programme ‘entry level’ when they only produce ‘athletes’ who win their own in-house competitions. And, to me, them not being ‘entry level’ just means they can’t coach well enough to make it suitable for anyone ##

You get the point.

If your exercise choice takes you in the direction you want to go in and you find it enjoyable enough to stick with, that’s the best choice for you (find out more tomorrow night now if you haven’t found that choice yet –> myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting)

If it only does on or neither of this things, it’s not a good fit.

Much love,

Jon ‘Have actually been paid to do my sport over 350 times but would cringe if anyone called me an athlete’ Hall and Matt ‘Keeping up with the dogs’ Nicholson
